Lyricfier gives us back the ability to see the lyrics on Spotify

lyricfier

It may be a coincidence (or not ...), but when Apple launched its streaming music service, Spotify had its pluses and minuses with Musixmatch, the song lyrics service that made music lovers able to read what they were singing Artists at all times from the world's most used music streaming service. For any Spotify user who likes to understand what he hears, this was a major problem that lyricfier will be in charge of solving.

Spotify ensures that you are making great strides in your role of delivering the song lyrics, but I know how uncomfortable it is to use an application that does not offer a well-visible button to be able to see them. While we wait for the king streaming music service to return a function that has been on Apple Music for months, curiously with many of the lyrics - traced - offered by Musixmatch, we can use an alternative solution that will put a button on the bar. superior from where we can carry out all the procedures.

Lyricfier, "temporary" solution to the problem of Spotify lyrics

Lyricfier is specially designed for users who, like me, prefer not to use web applications like the web version of Spotify. Users who listen to the Swedish streaming music service in the browser, can stop reading, since the support to read the lyrics of the songs is included. This little app is for those of you who prefer to use the Linux client and you don't want to wait for an official solution from Spotify. If you are in this second group, you can download and install Lyricfier from your GitHub page by opening a terminal and typing these commands:

git clone https://github.com/emilioastarita/lyricfier.git
cd lyricfier
npm install

Now you can read the lyrics of Spotify songs and know what it says, learn languages or whatever interests you the most.

It's great to have the lyrics and the program works great. The bad thing, as in all these applications is that it is made with Electron.io and consumes a lot of CPU. In my case 10% between the 5 processes it needs and almost 400Mb of RAM. It's a bit steep, but… what are the sixth generation i7 processors and gigs of RAM for? 🙂
