After several months of leaks, although I have always thought that they are not such, today the Meizu MX6 at a press conference in China. We wrote about the new Meizu smartphone on Ubunlog because it also an Ubuntu Edition version will be available, although this version has not been officially presented at the event that took place today.
As usual, the device is not exactly the same as what had been leaked. Although there are small surprises, the most important point, at least in terms of marketing, is that the Meizu MX6 will have a 10-core processor, that is, ten cores. The processor will operate at a maximum clock speed of 2.3GHz and will be accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage, which is more than enough for the vast majority of users, especially if we are not going to put a lot of music or install heavy games.

Other specifications of this smartphone include:
- 5.5-inch TDDI (Touch and Display Driver Integration) screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution
- 12Mpx camera with f / 2.0 aperture. It will be the first smartphone to use the Sony IMX386 sensor
- 5Mpx front camera
- 3020mAh battery
- Android 6.0 operating system with Flyme 5.2 layer. As mentioned above, Meizu says that the Ubuntu Edition "is coming soon"
- Colors: gold, gray, silver and pink
- USB-C
- Fingerprint reader
- Dimensions: 153.6mm x 72.2mm x 7.25mm

The Meizu MX6 will get on sale in China on July 30 and will be priced at $ 300. The price in Europe is yet to be confirmed, but making the actual conversion we would be talking about a very interesting phone for a price of € 272, something laughable if we take into account what other brands such as Samsung or Apple ask us. In the worst case, we would be talking about € 300-310 for a phone with a powerful processor, 4G of RAM and 12Mpx. Will you buy the Ubuntu Edition model when it arrives in your area?

Too bad about the 5,5 ″ screen that is too big (like the iPhone 6s Plus or Galaxy Note, etc), but for those who like a great big phone. I would prefer a 4,5 ″ or 4,7 ″ version that are more comfortable to use and, above all, to carry. Although it looks great, we will have to wait for the reviews for operation and camera.
By the way, Meizu does not make tablets? Because with the design (I do not care if it is inspired by Apple, the Galaxy S7 Edge is more beautiful) and materials, which always get good reviews in the reviews, it is an interesting brand.
You have to wait and try it, it looks good.
Canonical's idea of convergence is good, but it still doesn't work to continue offering powerful mobiles with software limited to a few applications.
