Nautilus 3.24 will be present in Ubuntu 17.10

Nautilus 3.20

The new version of Ubuntu, Ubuntu 17.04, has not yet been released, but despite that we already know some news that the new version of Ubuntu will have, the version that will be released next October, if the tradition is continued in the release of versions.

This novelty corresponds to the file manager, manager that was traditionally Nautilus 3.20 with quite a few additions and security patches that the Ubuntu team added to improve its performance.

This file manager with patches and additions was a very good solution and a perfect complement to the Unity desktop. But currently it is a version that is a little out of date.

Nautilus 3.24 will be Ubuntu's big release later this year

For this reason, one of the Ubuntu developers has communicated that one of the first actions that will be taken when the Ubuntu 17.10 development opens will be upload all the code for that version of Nautilus to apply the necessary customizations that characterize the Unity file manager and also focusing on the Nautilus 3.24 file search function.

Ubuntu wants to improve the file search, seeking to offer a better utility to users in this regard and for this reason they have also decided to update the Nautilus version. Although surely, this update will help Ubuntu based developers more than end users, which, many will not even know what version of Nautilus they are using or if they are using another file manager.

Personally, I think the only dangerous thing about using such an old version is the insecurity that it can have, but with the exception of this, having one or another version does not change substantially if we take into account the patches that Ubuntu makes to the file manager. In any case, it seems that little by little Ubuntu is having the latest software on the market without changing its essence, something positive for many users. Do not you think?

Hopefully the possibility is implemented: open as a superuser or constantly display a status bar at the bottom of the window, otherwise it will remain just the shadow of Nemo and Dolphin, just to name two of the best known.

It would be nice if I had an option to put the Nautilus sidebar in black As it appears In the image, it never gave me that option

UPGRADE? this was the worst thing i could do ..
I used ubnt 17.4 and even the nautilus worked fine ..
but when updating to 17.10 the searches were screwed up ...
If you have many folders and you are looking for one that begins with 'm', I just want to get there quickly, and enter and exit ... but bumm the fucking search is activated that takes time away from you ..
As a developer, this was very annoying to me and I had to search the net to solve it .. now imagine a common user ..
It's like you saying: "NO LONGER USE LINUX BECAUSE YOUR EXPERIMENTS FUCK YOU"

THE DEVELOPERS OF UBUNTU DO NOT UNDERSTAND.
that users want improvements but not radical changes .. or else ask windows 8 with its METRO crap.
that fucks adults accustomed to the beginning bt ..
If you make a change as a developer, it is to add a new feature. It is not the solution to remove one to put an experiment.
This makes Android Stay on top and ubuntu mobile takes off.
