Install on Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint

This program can be installed on all Debian-based systems such as Ubuntu or Linux Mint. To install it, we just have to open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and type the following command:

sudo apt install newsbeuter

Configure Newsbeuter

This is where we can find the problem of this reader. We'll have to manually add urls, but this is fast and works perfectly. To configure it we will have to execute it so that it creates the configuration folder in ~ / .newsbeuter. The console will show us something like the following.

first run newsbeuter

To add the fonts we will create the file ~ / .newsbeuter / urls and we put something like this inside it:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/ubunlog
https://entreunosyceros.net/feed/
http://feeds.feedburner.com/LinuxAdictos

The URLs will have to be one per line. If the feed URL is protected with username and password, they should be mentioned as shown below:

http://nombredeusuario:password@hostname.domain.tld/feed.rss

Add tags to feeds

Another highlight of this program is that we can add one or more tags to categorize the feeds according to our taste. We will only have to specify the tags separated by spaces if we want to add more than one tag to a single feed. If what we are looking for is to specify a unique label that contains a space, we will only have to write them between double quotes as shown below.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/ubunlog “Todo sobre Ubuntu”
http://feeds.feedburner.com/LinuxAdictos “Gnu/Linux y todas sus cosas”

Read feeds

To read the feeds, we will only have to start the Newsbeuter utility from the Terminal using the command:

newsbeuter

This will show us something like the following:
