The BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition is now available for reservation

BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition to reserve

Today is March 28, do you know what it means? It's ready available for reservation Ubuntu's first converged tablet: the BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition. It can be booked from BQ official website and it is available in two versions: the HD version for a price of € 249.90 and the FHD version for € 289.90. What is the difference between the two models? Screen only: The FHD version has a 1920 x 1200 - 240 ppi FHD resolution screen, while the HD has a 1280 x 800 - 160 ppi HD screen, which will be noticeable for offering less detail.

For everything else, the BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition will use the operating system Ubuntu 15.04 but, from what we have seen in the different presentations (there are also videos on YouTube), the first Ubuntu convergent tablet will not use Unity 7, if not the much desired Unity 8. Logically, it can be updated to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) when the operating system is officially released on April 21. Being the first convergent tablet, there are many doubts, how can the betas be installed? I imagine so, but I would not risk it.

BQ already allows the reservation of the first Ubuntu convergent tablet: Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition

The BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition has a MediaTek Quad Core MT8163A processor up to 1,5 GHz accompanied by the MediaTek Mali-T720 MP2 GPU up to 600 MHz and 2GB of RAM, which may sound like a little compared to other tablets on the market, but I am totally convinced that it will offer outstanding performance. Has only 16GB of storage, but they warn us that users will have 11.2GB available, something that is very good and that no other company tells us. The memory can be expanded up to 200GB more by microSD ™ card up to 200GB1 (ext3), will that be enough? 😉 Regarding their cameras, the main one will be 8Mpx, while the front will be 5Mpx. No further details are provided, but we can think that they will comply.

What do you think of its specifications? Are you going to reserve it?
