Now Dock, an interesting dock for Kubuntu

Now Dock

Although Ubuntu and its version with Unity is a great version and a widely used official flavor, it is also true that other flavors are almost as used as Ubuntu Desktop. Kubuntu is a great alternative to Unity and Ubuntu it offers the same as Ubuntu but with the KDE desktop. And surely that many of its users or those of you who have tried this distribution, want to customize it and adapt it to your needs.

Next we are going to talk about an almost important component for Kubuntu users who want to have a dock in the distribution without losing functionality or resources.

The dock is called Now Dock y is a plasmoid created by Psyphidotes that allows us to have a dock without losing great resources for it. A plasmoid is a widget that Plasma has so that the user can have extra functions on the desktop without calling third-party programs.

Now Dock is a simple dock available to all KDE Plasma users

In Gnome there is the alternative of gdesktlets or adesklets, even Windows Vista incorporated this widget system that offered curious elements such as a calendar or a classic clock.

Now Dock is a plasmoid what can you get here and that through its operation and with a transparent artwork we can obtain a functional panel. In order to run this plasmoid, we need Plasma 5.8 and other libraries that we can check in this link.

Once we have the package and meet the requirements, we go to the folder and execute the install-global.sh script. This will begin the Now Dock installation. If we later want to remove the dock, for whatever reason, because we don't like it, because we want to change the theme, etc… we just have to run the uninstall-global.sh file.

Now Dock is a simple dock, we will not find great functions, but if we really want to something simple similar to the Mac OS dock, Now Dock is a great tool Do not you think?
