Krita 3.3.1 new version officially released

about Krita

Chalk is a popular image editor designed as a drawing suite and digital illustration, Krita is free software distributed under the GNU GPL license, is based on the KDE platform libraries and included in the Calligra Suite.

The application interface is quite intuitive and in addition to that for those who know Photoshop this will be quite familiar. Krita allows us to handle PSD files, it also has compatibility with OCIO and OpenEXR, it can manipulate the view to examine HDR images in addition to this it allows us to manage full color through LCMS for ICC and OpenColor IO for EXR.

Krita's development team has officially released the new version 3.3.1 a few weeks ago with which we have several changes within this application.

In this version of Kitra 3.3.1 two regressions are corrected important:

  • Krita would crash if restarted after closing it with reference image flattener set to float
  • Krita 3.3.0 was unable to read backup .kra files or .kra files that were unzipped and then manually compressed.

Additionally, the following changes and fixes have been included:

  • Fixed unexpected program shutdown when creating a swap document in OSX
  • When layers are joined, they do not include those that have been manually locked
  • Presentation for dragging and moving layers has been improved
  • The tooltip in the brush selector has been improved
  • Fixed memory leak when using color picker
  • Use of the fill tool has been disabled group layered
  • Added the ability to change the brightness and contrast on textured brushes (Rad).
  • Added ability to copy under cursor

How to install Krita 3.3.1 on Ubuntu 17.10?

In order to install Krita in our system we must download the following file and give execution permissions to install it.

Sudo chmod +x krita-3.3.1-x86_64.appimage

And with that we have Krita installed in our system.

A great program, especially for those image designers. The good thing that it is cross-platform. Greetings.
