This Linux distro, in just three or four days that I have been testing it, has convinced me very satisfactorily, since its appearance, functionality and good management of team resources make it more than recommended and both for expert users and for newcomers to the world of the Linux operating system.

System Requirements

To install this distro based on Ubuntu 12.04 and therefore with Long Term Support, we only have to meet these few requirements:

  • With only 512 Mb of Ram this distro already works perfectly, with a truly admirable speed of response.
  • You need a minimum Pentium II processor, and a graphics card of at least 16Mb, ideally with 3D graphics acceleration and OpenGL compatible.
  • If you are going to deduce to use graphic editing programs, photos and videos, you will need a quality card.

Peppermint Os is designed for all users, a fast, stable system with a long support for updates, up to five years, since it is the support offered by the LTS versions of Ubuntu.

Until recently Ubuntu was a new distro based on Debian, now several distros with different ideas are derived from Ubuntu, the truth is I am very impressed to see so much diversity in the Linux world.
