Something for Reddit on Linux

Few will be the people who do not know the famous portal Reddit, the news website and social bookmarks with a variety of topics where links are of special interest. Votes, trends, discussion maps ... everything or almost everything has a place on this website that receives an unofficial client for Linux desktops from which to view our threads of interest.

It is not the first or the only App that exists on Reddit, but few achieve better convey the experience that your tabs offer to user. Let's put Something for Reddit on Linux.

With this curious name, Something for Reddit, we are presented with this new application to track topics from the famous Reddit portal. If the Reddit source code is free, speaking of Linux this application could not offer us less than open source built on top of Gnome and using GTK + and Python as a programming language.

The application uses one style in two columns where the left shows us a list of messages sent to the sub-reddit which, when we click with the mouse, will show us all the answers in the panel on the right. We have a button that opens the integrated web browser which includes the application, a search for topics and subreddits where you can vote, answer and comment in each case.

Other features that the application has are: Topics light and dark, support for several accounts or interface adapted to touch systems. In future versions, the application is expected to improve its functions related to private messages or the adjustment of windows.

If you want install the app in your system you can do it from any of the following links, to Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) and to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus).
