Soundnode, a thin client for SoundCloud

Sound Node

The arrival of Spotify has made many operating systems no longer have to depend on the iTunes app to have music on the Desks. Thus there are alternatives such as Spotify itself or SoundCloud, the latter very popular among the freest users. Nevertheless SoundCloud has no application for Ubuntu, but if for mobile devices. This can be solved with a large dose of programming where we emulate the SoundCloud app for Ubuntu Phone or simply installing SoundNode on our Ubuntu.

SoundNode is an unofficial SoundCloud client with which we can connect our SoundCloud account and enjoy all your music since the interface provides the same power as the official SoundCloud app.

SoundNode also allows us to connect with our Facebook account in such a way that we can give Likes to the songs or simply share it with social networks, all in a simple and clear way, as if it were SoundCloud.

SoundNode will allow us to interact with social networks as if it were SoundCloud

SoundNode is written in node.js, Angular.js and also uses the SoundCloud API so it is presented as a good alternative to the SoundCloud webapp. Its installation is simple and the process simple. We only have to download the corresponding package from your GitHub repository and then unzip the file in a folder on our Home. Once that is done we just have to run the SoundNode app and the application will work. Then if you like we have options like dock it in Unity dock or create a desktop icon that links to the application to run from the desktop.

SoundNode is a pretty good SoundCloud client but there are also alternatives that are not only compatible with SoundCloud but also with other music or podcast services like Spotify and iVoox, but none offer as much integration with SoundCloud as SoundNode. Now the choice is yours, but you can choose to try everything and decide  Do not you think?
