Ubuntu Touch terminal will be a converged applications

As announced yesterday, Terminal, the small Ubuntu Touch terminal will change soon to become a converged application. This means that the Ubuntu Phone terminal will change substantially to make more functions and more useful to users.

The core application of the project, one of the four that was presented months ago and from which many users have created and adapted their apps, it will change substantially by adding new functions such as the dictionary or the ability to scroll either on a tablet or mobile.

Currently the most important Ubuntu application was adapted to the style that was proposed for Ubuntu Touch, something quite complicated but that was finally achieved. Now, the new milestone of the project will be to make the terminal unique for all platforms, that is, to make the Terminal is Convergent.

The new terminal will need the opinion of all users to be functional

This will be quite interesting for the user and it will be able to make Ubuntu Phone even more useful if possible since scripts, applications, etc ... can be executed. Something that will not be problems since the Terminal will be more functional on a reduced screen. Thus, it is expected that not only the scroll or the dictionary is incorporated but that we can also split the window and make the application be only in one part of the screen. It will also be tried that the design and artwork of the application remains true to the platform that is running at that moment, either on mobile or desktop artwork.

However, the most interesting thing will be the operation of the app in other operating systems than Ubuntu, that is, Windows. We do not know if this convergence will continue in Windows 10 but everything indicates that Ubuntu bash will be universal app, equivalent to this new milestone within the project. In any case, it seems that Ubuntu Touch is moving forward and with a lot to say Do not you think?
