The new OTA-14 will arrive again late, but it will come ...

OTA-14

After Thanksgiving in the United States, the Ubuntu Touch project manager, Lukasz Zemczak, has reported a new delay in the next major update of the project terminals.

The new OTA-14 will arrive during the first week of December and not at the end of November as planned. If we also take into account that the arrival is gradual, some devices will not receive the new OTA-14 until December 7 or 8.

Currently OTA-14 is frozen and available at the rc-proposed channel. Currently, this entire version is under review to fix small bugs that may appear. Among the novelties of the new OTA we have the arrival of desktop icons, animated backgrounds and a task manager that will make the most nostalgic of Android not miss it.

The new OTA-14 will incorporate icons to the desktop of our mobile

In addition there is the continuous correction of bugs and errors that the software may have. Something necessary for the operating system to work properly but also to avoid surprises after years of use. Currently this is what is happening to Android users who have to be constantly updating the operating system.

Users who have a mobile with Ubuntu Phone from UBPort project You will have to wait longer to get the new update, since the project is not endorsed by Canonical and the official version has to be launched first to adapt it to the corresponding mobile.

In any case it seems that Ubuntu Phone and Ubuntu Touch, the general project, keep going with a great future but unfortunately its acquisition is increasingly difficult (at least officially), there being no mobile available for purchase or at least this is indicated by the Ubuntu website.

The eternal postponements of Canonical. Sounds weird, but I'm still confident I'll live to see their famous one hundred percent convergence. The concept of Ubuntu Phone and Unity 8 is nice and simple, hopefully it will work soon.

It is necessary that this movement that Firefox OS quickly started with different operators in its year of birth begins to be carried out by Canonical.

The system is already much more mature, it offers guarantees of usability and full benefits, an agreement with different operators would achieve a large increase in users, and if there are users, there will be applications quickly ... ... and if there are applications, there will be more users.
