Yesterday the Beta 2 or final Beta of Ubuntu 17.04 came out and with it, some official flavors have released the corresponding beta of the flavor based on ubuntu 17.04. Here we tell you some of the news that we will find in the official flavors. They will not be all the news but at least if they will be the most remarkable and remarkable changes that will call the users of these flavors.
In this case we have to mention a new flavor that was incorporated months ago, Ubuntu Budgie, a flavor that also incorporates new features regarding Budgie Remix, which was based on Ubuntu 16.10.
Table of Contents
Ubuntu Budgie
Ubuntu Budgie will not only incorporate the latest versions of this desktop but also Budgie Welcome and Terminix have been introduced. The first of them is an app that will help the user to use the operating system and their desktop. The second application is a terminal application that will help us customize the application most used by all Gnu / Linux users.
Ubuntu Gnome
Although Gnome 3.24 is not in Ubuntu Gnome, some functions are in this flavor. Functions like Gnome Photos, Night Light or Gnome Maps are in this version but Nautilus will be in its version 3.20 as well as the Software Center is in its version 3.22. Flatpak 0.8 is already in this version as well as the possibility of installing software through the Chrome and Firefox browsers, something useful for certain users.
Ubuntu MATE
Ubuntu MATE 17.04 incorporates MATE 1.18, the latest version of this desktop. MATE 1.18 is a version that completely abandons the GTK2 libraries by completely using the GTK3 libraries. MATE Dark, the desktop artwork, has also been improved in order to offer better usability and appearance.
The rest of the official flavors, the oldest, do not present great changes. Its main novelty resides in bug fixes for official desktops and flavors, something interesting in some cases like in Lubuntu.
