Mozilla has released a new update to its mail client. It is about the launch of Thunderbird 60.5.2, a version that comes with few new features, especially for users of Linux operating systems. Among these novelties we have the classic bug fixes, among which we have one that came along with v60.5.1 and caused problems in Microsoft Outlook email accounts. Another problem that they have corrected, only in Windows, was a bug that caused the application to close when trying to send an email to a specific destination.

Explained the above, all Thunderbird users are encouraged to update as soon as possible. Windows and macOS users can access the download website to get the new version if a message does not appear telling us that it exists. Linux users now have two options: download the new version from its website or wait for it to be published in the official repositories. Thunderbird is available as a Snap package, but only in its Beta and Edge versions.

Windows is the great beneficiary with the new version of Thunderbird

What Linux users will get when updating is the UTF-8 support for MAPISendMail. We will also avoid two problems that caused the Twitter chat to stop working, which is caused by the API changes of Jack Dorsey's microblogging network. It should be remembered that Twitter has made many changes, which is why many users have decided to use the official version of Twitter, especially on mobile devices, all because of these API changes.

It is not known when there will be a new versionWhether it's a bug fix or a big release. Thunderbird is updated when the news is ready for public use. Personally, I would like both Thunderbird and Firefox to have an (even) simpler and cleaner interface without install no theme. What news would you like to see in Thunderbird?
