Ubuntu 17.04 is now available for download

Ubuntu 17.04 Zesty Zapus

As is typical within Ubuntu, the version corresponding to the month of April has already been released, which means that we can already have it on our computer Ubuntu 17.04 or also known as Ubuntu Zesty Zapus.

This version brings many improvements and news although the truth is that his interest has been focused on Unity 7 and Gnome due to the controversy that during the last days has created Canonical and Mark Shuttleworth. The new version is available for download, but it is not the only version available since the official flavors have also released their corresponding version.

Unity 7 has received some minor updates to its operation. This is not the case with Gnome, which has been updated to its latest version, Gnome 3.24, a version that we will certainly not see in Ubuntu 18.04. Along with these desktops, Ubuntu 17.04 contains Linux kernel 4.10, a stable and up-to-date kernel. As well we have X.Org 1.19, MESA 17, Libreoffice 5.3 and Mozilla Firefox 52.

Ubuntu 17.04 has kernel 4.10 and X.org 1.19

But perhaps the most important feature of Ubuntu 17.04 is swap memory deletion. This memory will continue to work within Ubuntu but at least it no longer needs to be twice the ram memory of the computer. Ubuntu will no longer use this type of swap memory as common as it did until now or the distributions did.

This means that in many cases and for many users, the version update is not possible and a clean installation will have to be done. Though upgrading from Ubuntu 16.10 to Ubuntu 17.04 it is something possible and that many users can already use on their computers.

If you want to get the Ubuntu installation image or one of its flavors, below we show you the links of the official flavors. It takes you to the download page, but remember that the best thing to do is do it via torrent download, faster download and less crash to servers:

I installed Ubuntu 17.04, problem; I couldn't connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi, what is the problem? Because I reinstalled Ubuntu 16.04 and with this I have no problems with Wi-Fi. If you can clarify it for me. Thanks

I have tried after having recorded via DD the .iso on a 1TB usb disk.
    I haven't seen anything again ...
-An installer with no change, and I'm wondering if the suggestions I've sent to canonical since version 14.04 have been read!
One example- I have Ubuntu 16.04, 16.10 and separate home installed.
I would have liked the installer to suggest me - if I wanted to install ubuntu on an existing partition? No way ! nothing..
We always find 'cosmetic fixes' but nothing intended for a non-specialist user.
Second example. When the installation fails, there is no possibility of going back.
    And I have more….
    I'll take the 14.10
