The wallpaper contest for Ubuntu 17.04 begins

As with each new version that is released of the Ubuntu operating system, Canonical has opened a call for all users to send their works and thus compete in the selection of the official wallpapers of Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus). It is time for all artists to make some of their work popular through one of the most widely used operating systems in the open-source world.

Twice a year Nathan Haines organizes an exhibition of free culture through the wallpaper contest, which is generally included through a Flickr group to which you must join and submit your work. There is no reward for your work except to achieve fame, and this is not an easy task given the quality of the proposals submitted by the candidates.

Either in the version of desktop, tablet or mobile phone, Ubuntu has always had spectacular wallpapers that have become iconic symbols of each edition. This time it's Ubuntu 17.04's turn, whose launch will feature a specially crafted design for the ubiquitous environment that Canonical prepares.

To send your designs You must first register on Flickr and then join the group specially created for this event. Registering with Flickr has generally required the use of a Yahoo! email account, but is now accessible through any other company. The group you will have to join later is accessible through the following link.

Pay attention to the rules that follow the event, since not any work is allowed. The contest will remain open until next March 5 and they have a page Wiki where all your doubts can be resolved. The winners will be announced on March 23, just one month before Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) released on April 23, 2017.

If your work is a finalist among the large number of designs that are sent, any user can download your work and view it from their computer. What better award than the fame and recognition to be in the system of millions of users.

the ideal would be to have access to all those wallpapers beyond the winner.
