Ubuntu 18.04 will bring by default X.Org

Despite the various problems that have appeared in the Gnu / Linux world in recent weeks, the Ubuntu team has gradually continued to develop the next version of Ubuntu, a version that must be remembered is an LTS version.

About the development of Ubuntu 18.04 we have known little so far, but recently, the project leader, Will Cooke, has reported on one of the changes that will be in Ubuntu 18.04.

This change affects the graphical server of the distribution and a fundamental part of the distribution. Ubuntu 18.04 will once again use X.Org as a graphical server. The problems that are being experienced with Wayland as a graphical server have led developers to revert to using X.Org. The problems make it difficult for users to use applications such as Google Hangouts or simply the WebRTC protocol.

This decision does not mean that Ubuntu will abandon Wayland, far from it. The young graphical server will be available in the repositories and will be as a user option. On the other hand, the Wayland server will once again be the default graphical server in Ubuntu 18.10, a version that will not be LTS and therefore may have some other problem or irregularity.

These issues with Wayland are not the only reason X.Org was chosen, as some developers claim, certain desktop functions work better with X.Org than with Wayland. Also, curiously, some voices say that Ubuntu could look for another graphical server for the future, that is, that the Ubuntu team remains unconvinced with Wayland.

In any case, it seems that Ubuntu 18.04 will be the answer to many users unhappy with the latest version of Ubuntu and with those who want to have a stable Ubuntu. Though Will users upgrade from Ubuntu 16.04 after various issues that have appeared? What do you think?

ENOUGH OF TESTS AND »NEW VERSIONS» Why don't they stop once and for all STABLE AND TESTED VERSIONS FOR MANY YEARS ????

ENOUGH TO BE «TESTING ALL THE TIME« ??? What is this desire to put operating systems on top of each other without meaning and CHANGING EVERYTHING all the time? IS THAT A BUSINESS TO REMOVE YOU ??? One would put a thing, eventually pulling them out and put in another OS then return to the previous and still the thing SINFIN ..to BURN COMPUTERS FOR THAT MANIA "change everything" ¡¡¡¡¡¡BASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DEVELOPERS BASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GREETINGS
