I don't know about you, but what is happening this time seems very strange to me. I remember Mark Shuttleworth announcing the name of the next Ubuntu version on practically the same day as the latest version release. Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo was released on April 18 and we still have no word from Shuttleworth. The news that we do have is that the Ubuntu 19.10 It will bear the surname of Eoan and today we have another piece of news to give you.
As usual, the first to break the news has been the last to reach the Ubuntu family. He has done it via Twitter, where Ubuntu Budgie tells us that the development phase of "Eoan" has officially opened. In link that provides us with not much information, something that they themselves recognize, starting by telling us that part of the codename that the Ubuntu version that will be released in mid-late October 2019 will still be missing.
Ubuntu 19.10 has no official name yet
19.10 #Ubuntu "eoan" development is now officially open https://t.co/csuM5tsk3Z … So this is a great time to get involved.

The development of 19.10 #Ubuntu "eoan" is now officially open. community.ubuntu.com… so this is a great time to get involved. Get in touch (private message) if you want to help.
Once we enter the link provided, they tell us that, although the full name is not yet known, yes some changes have been announced that will arrive with the new version:
- gcc-9 as gcc by default.
- glibc 2.30, which will arrive in August or later.
- python 3.7 by default and supported, with python 3.8 as available.
The more important changes will be announced during these six months until the Ubuntu 19.10 release. For the most curious, say that what is available days after the launch of a version of Ubuntu as a version in development phase is practically the same as the version that has just been released, so its use is only recommended to developers.
