Ubuntu 21.10 has released its codename, and it looks like it will be clever

Ubuntu 21.10

It has not been at the most usual time, but we already know the code name that the next version of Ubuntu will carry. It is not usual for it to be released so soon, when, at the time of writing this article and although Hirsute Hippo is now official, there are still three versions of Ubuntu missing for either announcing its launch on its page or having published a note with the new functions. But the truth is that Ubuntu 21.10 it already has a code name ... in theory.

Just like has advanced the middle OMG! Ubuntu !, Launchpad is already referring to the next release as Impish Indri. I was going to comment that it seemed like a strange name to me, but the truth is that I feel something similar the first time I read about a new code name. But what is an Indri? So that read In Wikipedia, in Spanish it says the same, and it is like a large lemur that we can find in territories like Madagascar.

Impish Indri will be the animal that gives Ubuntu 21.10 its name

On the other hand, "impish" translates as "rogue". Therefore, the full name in Spanish would be something like «indri picaro». In Spanish from Spain, I think "rascal" would suit him better, which is also synonymous with cunning. Now that we know the animal and its adjective, I'm curious how they represent it. It should be remembered that in the last two years they have represented a disco dog with headphones, an ermine from the East that had nothing special, a fossa whose eyes focused, a guayón gorilla with sunglasses and a hippo with hair. How will they make the indri look rogue?

Ubuntu 21.10 and the rogue indri have no scheduled arrival date yet, but we do know that will be released in october and it will update the GNOME version, probably to GNOME 41 which will arrive in September.
