Ubuntu 23.10 finally gets a development wallpaper, but this one is… well…

Ubuntu 23.10 in development

In December 2022, less than two months into Lunar Lobster's development, Canonical asked a designer to do what he had done several times in the past. Specifically, he created an image generated by artificial intelligence with something related to the mascot, at that time a lunar lobster, to use in the background during its development. It was the first time in his history that he did something like that, and the result is published on our sister blog Linux Adictos. Now they have done something similar to Ubuntu 23.10.

But of resemblance it has little. I have used that word to mean that there is a wallpaper that is not the same as the previous version, or the current one Lunar Lobster. When we thought that this was not going to happen again, when I updated my Ubuntu 23.10 virtual machine I saw that everything went blank, I thought it was a bug and no, it's the background for the development cycle, even if it arrives 2 to 4 months late for this need.

This is the background that Ubuntu 23.10 will have for about a month

The background in question is the following, although here you can also see the top panel, the dash, the personal folder and the pointer. If they wanted to give the impression that we are facing something "under construction"They have undoubtedly succeeded. It is somewhat reminiscent of some pieces that have to be painted before, such as the plates (sheets) that are used in cars. The only thing that makes us believe that we are dealing with something from Ubuntu are the lines that try to simulate a three-dimensional relief, that and the name at the bottom right that says "23.10 Mantic Minotaur Development Preview".

Ubuntu 23.10 will let us see its final background for the first time 3-5 weeks before the stable release, so this background will only be visible for a few weeks.
