Ubuntu Budgie keeps getting better for the next Ubuntu LTS release

Ubuntu Budgie

The development of Ubuntu 18.04 continues without serious setbacks and has not only advanced in its phases but the official flavors have released the first beta version based on Ubuntu 18.04. This release shows us the news that each version will bring for the next LTS version.

News that can cause a user to abandon or change their operating system for another. We have recently known the news of Ubuntu Budgie and really the youngest official flavor of all is still on the right track.

Ubuntu Budgie is an official flavor that uses Ubuntu and the Budgie Desktop as a base to offer the user. This means that we have a light operating system but with a modern interface and compatible with Gnome functions and libraries without having the big desktop installed. That is why there are more and more followers of this desktop and this official flavor. The new version of Ubuntu Budgie will bring with it a revamped Ubuntu Budgie Welcome application which will not only better guide the novice user but also will come in snap format to improve and secure your next updates.

Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 will have a new artwork by default that will try to be the symbol of the official flavor, something that has proven to be essential to preserve the identity of the official flavor. East new artwork is called Pocillo, a theme that we can find in various formats and that it will be available for Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 but it is not fixed, that is, we can change it or export it to another flavor of Ubuntu.

The new version will have new applets and functionalities with them. Ubuntu Budgie continues to use Gnome libraries which allows compatibility with certain applets and plugins that other desktops don't have. Budgie will have a new clock applet, a calendar applet, and compatibility with many other add-ons for the Gnome desktop. We just have to download and install.

A new version of the Solus distribution and Budgie Desktop has recently been released, a version that will be in Ubuntu Budgie and that allows better performance as well as greater safety and stability. So everything seems to indicate that Ubuntu Budgie will gradually be a great official flavor. But if you want to try it, you can get it through its Official Site.

Budgie is still having a pretty annoying bug. If you add the applet "Task List" to the panel, or even if you have the "Icon Task List", the content of the panel does not fit the screen. Thus, if you have many windows open, the end of the panel is lost off-screen. Hopefully soon they settle it.

    A greeting.
