Ubuntu Budgie, the new official Ubuntu flavor

Ubuntu Budgie

Today not only has the new President of the United States been met but also a new official Ubuntu flavor has been known (Hopefully their destinations are not crossed).

Thus, the developers of Budgie Remix have informed everyone that their distribution has been approved by the Ubuntu Technical Council and from now on it will be a new official Ubuntu flavor. But in this case it will not be called Budgie Remix but will be known as Ubuntu Budgie.

Now there is a hard and arduous work ahead because the latest version, Budgie Remix 16.10 will have to be changed so that it has the official Ubuntu name and logos, but more importantly, Ubuntu Budgie will have its first official version next April but in December Budgie 11 will be released, which will be a challenge for developers and their Community, as the new desktop represents a radical change compared to the current versions of Budgie Desktop.

Budgie Remix will have to change its name to Ubuntu Budgie

In any case, we can say that this news was something expected because already many of us treated Budgie Remix as another flavor of Ubuntu. We can even say that the members of the Council themselves believed it because their vote was unanimous, there were no votes against or abstentions.

We also know that Ubuntu Budgie has contacted the Solus development team, the distribution that created Budgie Desktop, so that the new versions of the desktop can also be in Ubuntu Budgie as well as all work for a better desktop.

In any case it seems that this new official Ubuntu flavor will give a lot to talk about, just like Ubuntu MATE is doing, Will these flavors be the ones the Ubuntu user ends up using? What do you think?

It has cost the team of the old Remix, because the work they were doing was not bad at all and we will hopefully continue. It is a useful desk, easy to handle and that I have no complaints about at the moment. It is true that it looks more polished, logically in Solus, but they are on the right track.

At least the Ubuntu council has finally recognized that it is worth it, because at least for me, it is more agile and more attractive than Unity, which has a lot of slowdown.

Well, I like this new appearance by giving you a cleaner appearance in addition to being simple to use.

One thing I like about this new flavor, that it is very configurable and you can adapt it to your liking.
