Ubuntu publishes a video with the new Mir and Unity 8

Although we still do not have Mir and Unity 8 among us, the development of this software is still on the right track. To do this and to show it to the entire community, the Ubuntu team has published a video with a demonstration of the new Ubuntu graphical server y how it works with Unity 8.

But unfortunately this does not mean that it is to be launched in a stable way. Something that will still take but at least we can see how the Mir server works and above all your X.org compatibility layer, which will allow normal applications to run smoothly on Mir.

In the demonstration video we can see how several popular and simple applications work correctly without any modification. The operation is not only good but it is also considerably faster. We can also see how Unity 8 will work not only normal applications desktop but also mobile apps.

Unity 8 and Mir will not be available on Ubuntu yet

There is no doubt that both Unity 8 like Mir work properly, However When will it be released stably? It is the question that we all ask ourselves and that Canonical does not seem to know how to answer. It seems that with this video Canonical wants to tell us that neither in the next version of Ubuntu we will know the famous convergence.

Although a new release was announced with a terminal that would offer the famous announced convergence and that will allow to run the applications of a lifetime on this smartphone, this new terminal will show the convergence of Ubuntu. But personally, to our regret, I think this new device will not show all convergence We hope and it will only work with some applications or so I think because if everything worked fine, Ubuntu would not release a video with the demonstration of Mir and Unity 8.

What do you think about this video? Do you think that in October we will see a terminal with the announced convergence or not? Will we have Ubuntu with Mir in Wily Werewolf?

Nanai nanai nanaino, much lirili little lerele ... the same APPS both on mobile (smartphone) and on the PC ... they have already announced it, from the katapun. Less advertising and more reality.
Ubuntu has been little more than marketing for a long time, not to mention that they never end up consolidating a version of the OS with the sections that "advertise" working agile and decently.
    Never.
They should be more specific about where they are going and focus more on a specific job; All the team.
Not giving so many shots to the air everywhere, that in the end they only remain in borage water, and an evolution of the "OS" tree that evolves with a drop count and loses stability each time it is touched, instead of gaining it.
Which they sell as "evolution" and "improvements" and are usually "backward" and "half measures to evolve."
