After the short parenthesis for Unity 22.04, we return to the official versions. a few moments ago it has become official the launch of Ubuntu Studio 22.04, which is the 31st release of the version of Ubuntu intended for content creators. They remind us that, due to the desktop switch from Xfce to KDE, upgrades from versions prior to Ubuntu Studio 21.10 are not supported, so it is not possible to upgrade from Focal Fossa.
All the new arrivals that come along with Ubuntu Studio 22.04 are many, in part because we have to take into account two things: the first is its reason for being, its applications, and in Jammy Jellyfish the main multimedia applications have been updated; the second is the graphical environment, Plasma 5.24.
Highlights of Ubuntu Studio 22.04
- Linux 5.15.
- Supported for three years, until April 2023.
- They don't mention it, but it uses Plasma 5.24 and some apps from KDE Gear 21.12.3.

As for the problems, in Ubuntu Studio 22.04 the Discover software sources button does not work. They say that a temporary solution is to open Konsole and type sudo software-properties-qt to go to the same place. There is no mention of when the bug fix is scheduled. Ubuntu Studio uses the same graphical environment as Kubuntu since 20.10, and bugs affecting Kubuntu may affect the Studio version of Ubuntu.
On the other hand, they also comment that it is not recommended to upgrade to a new LTS version until the first point update is released, which is scheduled for July this year. It doesn't seem like the best idea if we take into account that Impish Indri will stop receiving support around those dates and it cannot be uploaded from Focal Fossa, but there is the recommendation.
