Unity 8 could still change its final look

Unity 8 and Scopes.

Many of you surely have already tested the future version of Unity together with the MIR server, version that even being unstable we can use in our Ubuntu or simply test in a virtual machine.

So far the reason we don't have Unity 8 as a standard desktop has been that the version is not yet polished enough for the user and Ubuntu Convergence, but after the survey that has been launched recently, personally I believe that such an argument is not like that or at least it is not exactly like that.

A few days ago, Ubuntu has launched a poll to vote or decide on what the scopes will look like on the new desktop, something that may seem very vacuous, but is interesting and important for the present and future of Unity 8.

For a long time scopes are useful little programs for many users, making possible tasks such as using Google Drive or finding out the time from our desktop. If the design of these elements is not predefined yet, it means that the entire desktop is not yet built and that may be why Unity 8 is not yet on our Ubuntu computers.

At least the survey allows us to know what options or what possible aspects will have the new version of Unity and by extension, the new Ubuntu interface on computers, tablets or mobiles. Though nothing is fixed yet.

In any case, if you are interested in participating in the choice of the appearance and arrangement of the scopes in Unity 8 in this link You will find the vote.

I personally think Canonical and Ubuntu want to polish every aspect of the desktop, something that already happened with other changes in other popular desktops like KDE or Gnome. However, personally I am of the opinion that it is preferable to launch versions and be wrong than to wait and not finish launching the version. Small desks like this were born and are worth trying. And who knows, Unity 8 may surprise us in the end.
