VidCutter is updated to version 5.0

vidcutter

This time we will take the opportunity to talk about an open source and multiplatform video editor (Gnu / Linux, Windows and MacOS) plus it is very easy to use, this tool is built on top of Python and Qt and powered by FFmpeg this tool is called VidCutter.

VineCutter has the ability to offer us video editing In terms of trimming and joining these, the truth is that it is a quite excellent tool, since there is no greater need to use some other more complex editor for the simple task of cutting or joining videos.

Now within another of the features that VidCutter has that I find excellent is that the video will be edited in the same format This is what is a plus since at the end of the work you do not have the need to re-encode it and waste time on it.

Inside of thethe video formats that the application supports We found the following without the most popular ones, AVI, MP4, MOV, FLV, MKV and others.

VineCutter has been updated to its new version 5.0 with which it renews and fixes some errors, within its most notable list of changes we find:

  • New 'SmartCut' feature introduced for precise frame cuts.
  • New progress bars on clips in the timeline
  • New option of the button "See keyframes".
  • New app icon
  • Standard quick cut and flow mapping enhancements.

How to install VidCutter on Ubuntu?

In order to install VidCutter in our operating system we will do it through its repository which we must add, for this we must open the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and execute the following command in it.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ozmartian/apps

Now we just have to update our repositories and install the application:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install vidcutter

Now we just have to start using the application and know how easy it is.

Luckily the version was updated because I stopped using it due to the bugs it had ... Now it seems that the bugs have been corrected. 😉
