Xubuntu wants to renew part of its image and asks for your help if you know how to design

Xubuntu looks for new logo

It has always been said: renew or die. Whoever has thought of that idea a bit in recent months has been a Xubuntu, the official Ubuntu flavor with Xfce graphical environment. And it is not that they are thinking of extreme changes, but if they want to modify, among other things, something that has been with them for a long time. What I'm talking about? From your logo, one that, so have posted on Twitter, they want it to be based on the elementary OS image.

As we read in a statement Posted a few hours ago, Xubuntu wants to make changes to your image and those changes would arrive in Xubuntu 20.10 Groovy Gorilla which, while it is true that they have not mentioned directly, they do say that they are working on some art projects for the "next release". Some changes may come from community suggestions, while others will be the result of contests.

Xubuntu 20.10 Groovy Gorilla will arrive with changes to its image

If you want to contribute new art ideas to Xubuntu, such as new installer slideshow images, please submit your ideas to the Xubuntu developers mailing list for discussion. Submitting new ideas is especially helpful from the beginning of the Launch Program and before the UI freeze, which is typically a month before launch. Please note that messages containing large attachments will enter the moderation queue, so it is recommended to start with an introductory email without attachments.

Collaborators can contribute their ideas in various sections, among which default icons are included and the GTK theme. But not only that: the developer team is willing to listen to any suggestions, such as what is shown when installing the operating system, that is, the images about what we can do after installing Xubuntu.

Tras un Xubuntu 20.04 With no major cosmetic changes, the next release might introduce some surprises, but we'll still have to wait almost six months to discover them all.
