Is your GNOME-based Ubuntu 19.10 crashing? It is a widespread problem

Ubuntu 19.10 crashes

Several years ago, whenever I tried to use Kubuntu, I would go back to Ubuntu because the first one presented me with a lot of problems. I had never experienced these problems in Ubuntu, a version with fewer options but that has always been more stable, at least if in Kubuntu we decide to add the Backports repository and use all the software as soon as they release it. Today I couldn't help thinking about this when I found out that Ubuntu 19.10 is presenting a problem causing the system to crash.

The problem has been discovered and published Jason Evangelho from Forbes, who explains that the bug occurs on Ubuntu 19.10-based operating systems that use GNOME graphical environment. What he did to realize it was to start the game Counter Strike: Global Offensive and participate in other activities, which crashed his desktop. Several community members confirmed that they were experiencing the same issue.

GNOME in Ubuntu 19.10 has a bug that annoys games

The operating system that Evangelho uses is Pop! _OS 19.10, the version based on Eoan Ermine of the operating system that System76 develops. The good thing is that Canonical, GNOME and System76 itself are already aware of the problem. In the case of the latter, it is already solved.

El fault is related to mutter, the default window manager in GNOME 3. The bug appears much more in game sessions, but it could also be extended to other activities. The latest Pop! _OS 19.10 update has fixed the problem, but Canonical, GNOME and other distributions using the famous graphical environment have yet to release the patch.

Taking into account that it is a widespread and well-known problem, the update that fixes this bug It will be coming to Ubuntu, Manjaro, Fedora, and other systems using GNOME 3.34 in the next few days. Or you can always do like me and switch to Kubuntu.

Well I would say that it is not just a gnome problem, because I use Linux mint tina cinamon and sometimes it freezes ... In any circumstance, whether it is browsing or reading a PDF.

The Guadalinex teams that we have in high school (and they use Xenial for being LTS) with GNome Shell go like hell and start to "scratch disk" when you least expect it so that it makes it practically impossible to use them when they get "dumb"

Translating ... this comes a long way, every day I am getting more disgusted by GNome?

The problem with Gnome 3 is that in general it is a nice desktop but you need a beast of a machine so that it does not crash and that takes away user quota, they are doing it wrong and people are leaving, so you can not speak badly of Win 10 if one of the Free Software Icons has the same flaws.
