She is tired of receiving notifications or you just need a time without distractions that allows you to focus on your work, with NoNotifications you can temporarily suppress these notices in your Ubuntu with Unity 7. NoNotifs, as it is known for short, is a little prompt for Ubuntu that will temporarily disable on-screen system notifications (NotifyOSD).
Small and open source, this application is simple and works perfectly on the system. From now on you can fix your attention on what really requires you and not on the system bar with NoNotification.
We have all suffered at times the annoyance of the distractions that the operating system produces when it sends us alerts of all kinds. At certain times of the day we can't lose our productivity And if you have decided to put an end to distractions, with the NoNotifications application the system notifications will be one less in your day to day.
The program is configured by two options, Do not bother y Remove, each of them with its own notification icon to indicate what state we are in. With "Do not disturb" we will disable the notifications and the program will indicate this status by means of a red traffic light. Obviously, we can revert this state and allow the warnings and we will return to a green icon.
NoNotifications does not remove all notifications from the systema, because although in Ubuntu (with Unity 7) we have missed a "do not disturb" mode, this program only avoids those from NotifyOSD. Although there are users who would like an "away mode" to avoid any kind of warning, sound or message on the screen, we have some doubts as to whether this could be really beneficial. Who knows, we are also anticipating some of the next functions that this program will include.
For the moment, and if you want to incorporate this practical program to your system, you can achieve it if you install it with these commands through the terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vlijm/nonotifs sudo apt update sudo apt install nonotifs

The first line is to add the PPA repository to your system, but if you are on Ubuntu 14.04, 15.04, 15.10 or 16.04 it will not be necessary.
Has this application helped you avoid annoying notifications? We are waiting your comments.
