Microsoft abandoned the classic logo of its browser and introduced a new one

microsoft edge logo

More than four years ago, Microsoft introduced the new Edge browser, which would become the main successor to Internet Explorer. Despite the fact that it was a completely new browser, the style of this still closely resembled that of its predecessor.

Later, several years later, In December of the previous year, Microsoft announced its intention to adopt the Chromium open source project in the development of Microsoft Edge. to "create better web compatibility for your clients and reduce web fragmentation for all web developers." The first official versions of this Microsoft Edge based on Chromium have been available since last June. While the first stable version has been available since the end of October this year.

At the Microsoft Ignite Conference that started yesterday. At first, Microsoft should make additional announcements regarding this stable release, including the official release date.

“We are going to Microsoft Ignite 2019 to share Microsoft Edge news for businesses, IT professionals, and web developers. We are very excited to share more of our experience with Chromium over the past year, what it means to your customers, and to hear your feedback, "writes the Microsoft Edge team.

Microsoft Edge logo looks less like Internet Explorer

Despite the fact that the company has yet to officially communicate. A company manager has just introduced his new logo on social media. The visual speaks for itself: the "e" does not seem to have been completely neglected, but we notice it as a retouch of the style in a green and blue wave that could still be interpreted as the same letter.

Microsoft's new browser logo looks a lot like a wave. The wave, which is shaped like the letter 'e', is a symbol for 'surfing the web'. The new Edge logo has the colors blue and green and fits well with the new corporate identity of Microsoft's Office suite.

Still we have to wait a bit for the official premiere of Microsoft Edge, but the date is not that far. As Microsoft announced that the full version of the browser will be available for users from 1January 5, 2020 and will offer support for 90 languages.

The application will be equipped with advanced tracking protection functions, collections, a built-in translator, among other functions to work in conjunction with different Microsoft products.

The interesting thing about this new reconstruction of the browser Microsoft's website is that not only the browser would be taking the base of another (Chrome) for its construction and not being one built from scratch like others.

But This would be the first time that Microsoft's web browser would be available for other operating systems besides yours.. So that in a previous article that we shared here in the blog we talk about the possibilities of this coming to Linux.

Since Microsoft had launched a survey directed to the developers, in which some points of her suggested that the web browser could be available for Linux.

While Microsoft Edge for Linux is yet to be made official, the survey suggests that Microsoft could be laying the groundwork for it. Therefore, it would fit in well with the current strategy that Microsoft brings Edge into the world of Linux.

Although as mentioned in the article, this arrival of Microsoft's web browser to Linux will not cause great relevance Linux users. Which, if it leaves any precedent, is the work on the part of what was once Linux's public enemy number many years ago.

Now it has joined this, because for some years, Microsoft has been giving a lot to talk about its participation in the Linux Kernel, releasing patents, creating Linux versions of its products and others.

And who knows maybe one day, I will finally get to hear what so many Linux users have requested and that is the compatibility of their office suite on Linux.

I make myself present, not with the intention of being negative but I would not use this browser. I have always used the different one that is Firefox, the other browsers are the same with different names and logos (based on chromium). Happy with firefox.

I agree, not for something Mozilla raised his voice when it was learned that Chromium would be the base. Well, basically they would be falling into a monopoly and it would be Firefox against the world ...
