The new version of Darktable 3.2 has already been released and after 7 months of active development, this new version they are presented with various quite interesting changes of which the improvements to the histogram stand out, support enabled for AVIF images, among others, and also not to forget the numerous minor optimizations and bug fixes.

For those who are unfamiliar with Darktable, you should know that this acts as a free alternative to Adobe Lightroom and specializes in the non-destructive manipulation of raw images.

In this new version of the application of the most relevant changes that are presented we can find that the light table mode has been completely rewritten with significant acceleration and Enhanced interaction up to 8K resolution.

The image import module RawSpeed ​​has added support for almost 30 new cameras and has sped up the image unpacking process.

How to install Darktable on Ubuntu and derivatives?

For those who are interested in being able to install this new version, they should know that currently the precompiled binaries for Ubuntu and its derivatives are not yet available even though it is a matter of days before they are available within the repositories.

To install from the repositories, just type:
