Elementary OS already has OEM builds and can be found pre-installed on some laptops

The developers of the distribution of the popular Linux distribution "Elementary OS" released recently through an announcement that worked to do OEM build prep of the distribution to offer it to manufacturers who want to pre-install the operating system Elementary OS on your devices.

In this first job, the first agreements that were reached get about the pre-installation of the operating system, it was on With Linux and Star Labs laptops, They specialize in supplying laptops with various Linux distributions.

On the part of Star Lab, it should be known that offers a line of compact laptops with screens from 11 to 13.3 inches, in which, in addition to the basic operating system, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Zorin OS and Manjaro are available.

The guys from Star Lab shared the following:

We are excited to partner with the elementary operating system and that it is now available on our laptops. With the light, clean and visually impressive operating system, they break the boundaries for Linux in the future. The combination of Elementary and the LabTop Mk IV creates the best open source experience out of the box.

While laptops With Linux offer larger laptops and powerful with 14-17.3-inch displays, which can also be pre-installed with Ubuntu, Fedora, Manjaro, Debian, Linux Mint, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, Zorin OS, and Kali Linux.

Manufacturers noted the visual appeal of the operating system and focused on usability.

Since our first release of OS elementary in 2011, people have asked us how they can buy a computer that runs the operating system out of the box. While installing an operating system may be common knowledge within Linux user groups and IT departments, it is a major hurdle for ordinary users who just want a working computer.

We've also been in long-standing discussions with OEMs about OS shipping and what that relationship would look like between users, OEM, and Elementary.

OEM builds performed, sare offered with the intention of being able to allow to optimize the changes in the composition, drivers and settings for specific devices. For installation, both the OEM mode of the Ubuntu installer and the new Elementary OS installer, developed jointly with System76, can be used.

In that regard, we have restructured our OEM program to make it easier to ship the operating system and for those purchases to support the work we do.

We now have two tiers for OEM: Retail and Partner. While all OEMs must comply with our brand and our trademarks , the other requirements and benefits for the tiers differ.

Laptops will be shipped with Elementary OS version 5.1 Hera and these same they can immediately access the latest update of this branch, which was released a few days ago and is the version ElementaryOS 5.1.5.

In which present improvements to some of the system components of which the improvements for the AppCenter, network as well as for the file manager of the distribution stand out.

For those who are unaware of Elemetary OS, you should know that it is a distribution positioned as a fast alternative, open and aware of privacy to Windows and macOS.

The main goal of the project is high-quality design, aimed at creating an easy-to-use system that consumes minimal resources and ensures high startup speed. Users are offered their own Pantheon desktop environment.

The components Elementary OS originals they are developed using GTK3, Vala, and their own Granite framework.

The graphical environment is based on Pantheon's own shell, which combines components such as the Gala window manager, WingPanel top panel, Slingshot, Plank's lower taskbar (an analog of the Docky panel rewritten to Vala), and the manager of Pantheon Greeter session (based on LightDM).
