Firefox already has a new suggestion system and a new interface in Focus

Mozilla unveiled the introduction of a new suggestion system in Firefox, Firefox Suggest which has the purpose of showing suggestions additional as you type in the address bar, (something similar to the autocomplete offered in Chrome and browsers based on it).

From recommendations based on local data and referred to a search engine, the new function differs in the ability to provide information from external partners, which can be both non-profit projects such as Wikipedia and sponsors.

For example, I know when I start typing the name of a city in the address bar, a link to the most suitable city description will be offered on Wikipedia and when an article is entered, a link to a purchase in the store will appear in eBay online offered.

Offers may also include sponsored links obtained through the adMarketplace affiliate program.

This new function «Firefox Suggest »can be enabled or disabled in the "Search suggestions" section of the "Search" configuration section.

If Firefox Suggest is enabled, the data entered in the address bar, as well as the information about the clicks on the recommendations, is transmitted to the Mozilla server, which through itself transmits the request to the partner's server for block the ability to link data to a specific user by IP address.

To display recommendations taking into account events that occur in the vicinity, partners also receive information about the user's location, which it is limited to information about the city and is calculated based on the IP address.

Initially, heThe feature will only be activated for a limited number of US users.. In addition, before enabling Firefox Suggest, the user is presented with a special window with a proposal to confirm the activation of the new function.

It is noteworthy that in a visible place the consent with inclusion button is clearly highlighted, next to which there is a button to go to the configuration, but there is no explicit rejection button, since there is simply a section of "Not now" which is indicated in the upper right hand corner in small print with a link to reject inclusion.

Another novelty presented by Mozilla, it is the beginning of the tests of the new interface browser Firefox Focus for Android. The new interface will be offered in the Firefox Focus 93 version in which Firefox Focus fonts are redistributed under the MPL 2.0 license.

Addition complete redesign of the interface in Firefox Focus 93, the settings related to locking the code to track user movements have been moved from the menu to a separate panel.

The panel appears when you touch the shield symbol in the address bag and contains information about the site, a switch to control the blocking of trackers in relation to the site, and statistics on blocked trackers.

Instead of the absent bookmarking system, a shortcut system has been proposed, which allows you to add it to a separate list ("..." menu, "Add to shortcuts" button) if you frequently browse the site.

For those who are unfamiliar with the browser, they should know that is focused on ensuring privacy and giving the user full control over their data. Firefox Focus has built-in tools to block inappropriate content, including ads, social widgets, and external JavaScript to track movements.

Blocking third-party code significantly reduces the amount of materials downloaded and has a positive effect on page loading speed. For example, in Focus, pages load on average 20% faster than the mobile version of Firefox for Android. The browser also has a button to quickly close a tab, clearing all associated records, cache entries, and cookies.

In Firefox Focus, sending telemetry is enabled by default with anonymous statistics on user behavior. Information about statistics collection is clearly indicated in the settings and the user can disable it.
