KDE Frameworks 5.63 Now Available, Comes with 141 Fixes and Improvements

Framework 5.63

When we talk about KDE software, the first thing that comes to mind is Plasma, its graphical environment. But there are still at least two other components that make the experience in operating systems like Kubuntu special: the first of those components is the KDE Applications, among which we find software like Kdenlive or Spectacle. The second is the one that interests us in this article, since it is already available Framework 5.63.

For some reason, the KDE Community doesn't talk so much about Frameworks as it does about Plasma or its applications. It is probably due to the fact that Frameworks is something that we find more "under the hood", that is, they are less visible things, but necessary for everything to work as we expect. I explain this because KDE Community did not publish anything on social networks and we have not found out until today that Frameworks 5.63 it was already available, something we have done when visiting the KDE news website because we are waiting for another release, that of plasma 5.17 that will be produced in the next few hours.

Plasma 5.17 beta now available, prepares the launch of the stable version in three weeks

Unlike the new versions of Plasma, which today will launch a new version and will also appear in Discover, in order to install the latest version of Frameworks we have to wait a few days. Frameworks 5.63 is available now, but can only be installed using your code the day of its launch. The new version will appear in Discover in the next few days, as long as we are using the KDE Backports repository. Until then, the Plasma 5.17 that will arrive in a few hours will provide us with fresh and visible air.
