GNOME starts 2024 strong, with many new features and Frets entering the circle

GNOME No, and a few hours ago he published the first note of 2024 about news that has occurred in his circle. Unlike last week, this time they have once again talked about work done with The donation from Sovereign Tech, and it has been no small thing.

Although there may be other more interesting things, it is always good to see how an application has entered the GNOME circle, and in the last seven days Frets, an application for learning to play the guitar, has entered.   • With Sovereign Tech money:
    • Work has been done on following up on the refactoring of gnome-online-account:
      • Removed GOA from initial gnome configuration.
      • Removed Fedora provider.
    • Work and research on http handlers has begun.
    • Kernel patches sent for the Bluetooth stack:
      • Disconnect Bluetooth devices before cutting power to the chip using.
      • Fix a bug with scans where the wrong flags were checked and scans might not start.
      • Improved logic + hardware support for establishing connections to more than a single device at the same time

  • Fractal 6.rc2 has introduced new features such as:
    • Array URIs can be opened with Fractal, it is even registered as a manager for the array scheme.

    • The verification flow has been rewritten to be more based on the Matrix Rust SDK, which is expected to resolve most of the issues that occurred before.

    • The wavebox drawing mode now draws smoother bezier curves.
    • Users can now specify –fg aarrggbb or –bg aarrggbb command-line arguments to change the foreground and background color of the Cavalier instance execution, respectively.
