KDE Applications 20.04.3 arrives as the latest version of this series to fix the latest bugs before the August release

KDE Applications 20.04.3

The KDE project is always very active and releases new software every so often. Regarding their applications, they release an update every month and, after June version, we already have available the July version, or what is the same, KDE Applications 20.04.3. It is the latest version of this series and has come to fix the latest bugs from the original release that occurred in April 2020, but with no new features.

As usual, KDE Community has published several articles about this release, but the most interesting is the one that mentions the new features, but they have only talked about 71 changes this time. In this article, we will do the usual, that is, put a few functions that were mentioned to us during past weekends, only three, partly because Nate Graham uses simpler language and partly because what he mentions are the more changes important.

Highlights of KDE Applications 20.04.3

  • Desktop files whose icons are defined as SVG files with the full path included now render correctly in Dolphin.
  • Pressing Ctrl + Shift + W in Yakuake now closes the session as expected instead of displaying a nasty "Ambiguous shortcut detected" dialog.
  • Yakuake's window can now be maximized with the same keyboard shortcut used to maximize it if you hit it a second time.
  • Complete list of changes to this link.

KDE Applications 20.04.3 has already arrived officially, but it will still take a few hours for it to reach KDE neon, especially the operating system of the project in which they have more freedom. Some time later, its Backports repository will also arrive and in the next few days it will be the distributions that will add the new packages, especially those whose development model is Rolling Release.
