Kdenlive 19.04.2 now available, arrives to fix 77 known bugs

Kdenlive 19.04.2

A few hours ago, KDE Community has released a new version of its video editor. Is about Kdenlive 19.04.2, a release that is part of the KDE Applications 19.04 June Update and is here to fix a total of 77 known bugs. Among the highlights of this release we have fixes for composition issues, misbehavior guides / markers, and grouping inconsistencies. As a new "knit" version, this is a minor update.

The KDE Video Editor is available on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Kdenlive 19.04.2 for Windows also comes with improvements that are only available in Microsoft's operating system, such as importing slideshows and dark themes that now have white icons (enable "Force Breeze Icon Theme" in settings). From the looks of it, previous versions arrived with a lot of bugs and between v19.04.1 and v19.04.2 they have already fixed a total of 118 bugs.

With the release of Kdenlive 19.04.2, 118 bugs have already been fixed

Among what has been corrected in this version, it stands out:

  • Fixed various keyframe issues.
  • Fixed a problem in the indexing of the composition in the first track.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause recorded audio to not be added to the timeline.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the timeline to be unresponsive after deleting an entire clip.
  • Now correctly loads colors and icons.
  • Fixed problems when copying and pasting a track.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the application to close when opening an old project.
  • It will no longer save corrupted files.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a custom effect to appear under the wrong name after saving.
  • Fixed copy paste composition is shorter frame.

You have the complete list of changes in the Kdenlive 19.04.2 release note published on its official website. The new version is now available from its download website or in a flatpak package by Flathub.

Another interesting thing to keep in mind is that Kdenlive marks the arrival times of the KDE Applications. That Kdenlive v19.04.2 is now available means that KDE Applications 19.04.2 release will be announced soon And best of all, they should be hitting the Kubuntu Backports repository soon. This is what Rik from KDE Community told me a couple of months ago that they would upload them when they had released a maintenance release. This is the second and the time could have come. Let's hope so.
