LibreOffice 6.2.6 now available and becomes the recommended version for production teams

LibreOffice 6.2.6

Just over a week ago, The Document Foundation He launched LibreOffice 6.3. This was the most up-to-date version, but one that hasn't received any maintenance updates yet, so the company was still recommending the 6.1 series for production teams. Today they released LibreOffice 6.2.6, an already highly polished version that the company that develops the famous office suite already recommends for use in production equipment.

LibreOffice 6.2.6 comes five weeks after v6.2.5 of The Document Foundation's office suite, and it does so primarily to fix bugs. The fixes have also included patches for fix security flaws, which, together with other patches to improve performance, have led the company to recommend this version for use in work teams. We remember that the recommended version is usually one older than the last version to be released, but it is also one that offers fewer problems.

Update to LibreOffice 6.2.6 to improve security

The Document Foundation says it's about "the sixth minor release in the LibreOffice 6.2 family, aimed at users in production environments. All LibreOffice 6.1.x and 6.2.x users should update immediately to improve security, since the software includes both security patches and some fixes from the last months«.

La next version will already be a v6.2.7 of the office suite that is expected in about two months, in mid-October. It will be released to further polish the software and will be the last update in this series. After that, the 6.2 series will continue to be supported until November 30, but will not receive any more patches, either to fix bugs or to fix security flaws. Before then, the 6.3 series is expected to have reached the optimum level of reliability and is recommended by The Document Foundation for production equipment as well.

We can download LibreOffice 6.2.6 for Windows, macOS and Linux from this link. Those of us who are using the version included by default in our Linux distribution will still have to wait a few days for it to be uploaded to the official repositories.

It's just fantastic. It has nothing to envy to Microsoft Office for routine work. 4 years ago I left Windows and started using LibreOffice (I had already used it in Windows) and I am very satisfied.
