The new version of Linux For All is now available: create your own Ubuntu 16.10 distro

linux for all

Ubuntu-based operating systems are usually very customizable. We usually have so many options available that we can even create our own distro, something we can achieve with linux for all, a Live DVD that today has received a new update that will allow us to create our own distro based on Ubuntu 16.10, the latest version of the operating system developed by Canonical that will have official support for 9 months, or what is the same, until July of 2017.

Based on the Yakkety Yak brand that has been available for a month now, the build LFA Live DVD 161114 is a complete rewrite that comes with the newer Linux Kernel (v4.8) and includes several items from the Debian Testing (Stretch) repositories, which also includes Refracta Tools, the tool that allows us to create our own Ubuntu-based systems.

Linux For All 161114 includes the latest software versions

«I have included Refracta Tools so that you can create your own installable Ubuntu Live / Linux For All system. One of my previous versions of LFA (build 141120) had four graphical environments installed. LFA build 161114 uses only Fluxbox as window manager and Cairo-Dock as desktop interfaceArne Exton.

Among the news of the latest version of Linux For All we also find:

  • The new proprietary Nvidia 370.28 video driver for users with Nvidia GPUs.
  • The latest versions of the software from the Ubuntu and Debian Stretch repositories released yesterday, November 14.
  • Possibility of downloading the Linux Kernel 4.8 from LFA in case we want to use it in another distribution based on Ubuntu or Debian.

Personally, I don't see it necessary to create a version of Ubuntu just for me, but if any of you are thinking of creating your own distro, you can download the latest version Linux For All from THIS LINK. What would you change, add or customize in your own Ubuntu distro?

What would have interested me in the article would have been to be able to see how that customization works

And to me, a video demonstration would have been the milk, so I went to try it

I would like some linux distro to work and be able to install without the mandatory "black screen of Death" in its installation. That would be fine.
