Linux Mint 18.1 "Serena" Cinnamon and MATE now available

Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon

Do you like Linux Mint? Well, its developers have had the pleasure of announcing the Linux Mint 18.1 release "Serena" in its editions Cinnamon y MATE. Being a version released in 2016, the year Ubuntu 16.04 was released, "Serena" is an LTS version or Long Term Support, which means that, like the Xenial Xerus brand that arrived in April of this year, it will have support for security patches and updates for 5 years, or what is the same, until 2021.

New versions of Linux Mint arrive with updated software, bug fixes and new features that will make our favorite graphical environment more productive. Depending on this graphical environment, there will be some news or others but, if there has to be a good time to update any Ubuntu-based operating system, that moment is right when an LTS version is launched, since we will be using a system that will not include many news that, although it is true that they may include new functions, will always be more unstable.
