LXLE Eclectica 16.04.1 RC1 now available, based on Ubuntu 16.04.1

The development of the distribution LXLE 16.04.1 continue and that's it first Release Candidate available (RC), both for computers with 64-bit processor and for 32-bit computers, which is not surprising when we talk about a lightweight operating system. The launch of the first RC took place only two weeks after the launch of a first beta that was publicly available. That beta was only available for 64-bit computers and was not based on the latest update of the operating system developed by Canonical.

LXLE version RC 1 16.04.1 is out based on Ubuntu 16.04.1 and comes with many improvements, such as support for the Btrfs file system, support for multi-monitor configurations, Expose type window selector, a lightweight application launcher, i3lock screen with autoblur and a new welcome screen. It certainly seems that the batteries have been put in the two weeks that have passed since the launch of the previous beta.

This RC also includes something that I really like: a tool that changes the wallpaper for another from time to time. On the other hand, it also includes a Aero window selector function, several Linux Mint and MATE Stack applications, a weather application and a more compact Control Menu, among other things, together with the latest security updates and greater fluidity.

But that is not all. They have also been included new extensions for the file manager, such as "Open as administrator", "Set as desktop background", "Check MD5" or "Empty Trash", some of them very important in any operating system.

LXLE 1 RC16.04.1 is available for download and testing from the project website, along with some release notes. If you are looking for a light graphical environment and functional, it may be worth a try.
