Firefox is a cross-platform web browser quite popular, which besides this there are as many browsers that tend to be preferred by much of the community, say Chrome, opera, iceweasel (the latter is based on Firefox) to say a few.

All of them have a particularity that even Firefox has, but did not want to explode, this is the quality to allow us to search from the address bar.

Although it's not a big deal, Firefox is one of the few browsers that still makes use of a search bar Within the browser interface, it is true that many will not be affected by this change, this is done in order not to take up unnecessary space in the user interface.

Mozilla plans to remove the search bar Firefox browser by default in Firefox 57. Although the search bar will be disabled for new users, existing users won't notice any difference with the above settings, as the search bar will remain visible when the browser is updated to Firefox 57.

Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer do not display or support a search bar.

In fact, most Chromium-based browsers don't display a search bar either; the only exception to the golden rule is the Vivaldi web browser which has a separate search bar as well.

The new interface design for Firefox

Mozilla revealed in June that it had plans to make changes to the search bar in the browser. What was unclear at the time was whether this would lead to a complete removal of the search bar, or just a visibility change.

The change is part of the Photon design update that the Mozilla team will introduce in the new version of the browser.

For those of us who are Firefox users, it is a necessary change. What do you think about it?
