Ubuntu 24.04 Noble Numbat Fund Contest

For many years, so many that honestly and if I don't look for information I don't know when this initiative started, before each launch of Ubuntu they open a wallpaper contest whose winners will be included in the new version of the operating system. This April reach isolate and deprive Noble Numbat, and during this weekend they have already opened the deliveries of images in at least two of the official flavors.

These fund contests They usually always have the same modus operandi: in the project forum they publish a new thread in which they explain the rules, users who want to participate have to publish their work there and, after a while, the contest is closed, the winners are voted on and the images are included as option in the new version of the operating system. The link to the Ubuntu contest is this, and the Ubuntu Budgie, open since January, is this other.

Rules for Noble Numbat Fund Contests

This year, Ubuntu has introduced a small novelty: there are sections pet, abstract digital art, nature and other. In the case of Ubuntu Budgie there is something that I don't remember seeing, although my memory may fail: the winner will get $50 worth of items from the Ubuntu Budgie store. The rules are practically the same:

  • Users must own their jobs.
  • The image size must be 3840x2160 (4K) in PNG or WebP.
  • You must indicate the type of license.
  • There is a list with characteristics that are not accepted, such as those that contain violent or sexual images, alcohol, tobacco or drugs, among other things.

The roadmap for the Ubuntu funding contest begins on February 9, on March 4 it closes and voting takes place, and on the 18th the results are given. The Ubuntu Budgie fund contest has been open since January 21, it will close on March 14 and the results will be given on the 21st. The winning images will appear as an option in Ubuntu 24.04 and Ubuntu Budgie respectively.
