The world of PC applications is full of editors with the most diverse purposes. From those specific to a programming language or a specific task such as editing scientific documents, to those other multipurpose that try to cover a greater number of options, editors are one of the basic tools of any work team.
This time we bring you an editor completely open source called notepadqq, a clone of the famous Notepad ++ for Linux systems ready to carve out a niche among our essential applications. Will it succeed?
notepadqq is a publisher with a very specific target audience: software developers. Indeed, programmers will be able to find in this software all those functions that have always needed a good editor, such as: keyword highlighting for over 100 different languages programming, the automatic line indentation, color coding schematic-based, convenient management macro functions, file monitoring, multiple selection of content and many other extra functions.
The power of this editor does not end here, since it also allows you to carry out text searches using regular expressions. To all these characteristics we must also add the possibility to organize documents using keywords as their identifiers or their support for different text encodings.
The program's interface is simple and clear, avoiding distracting the user at all times with overloaded buttons.
In order to install this complete editor on your system, you must execute this series of commands from a system console. Opening the terminal we will introduce:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:notepadqq-team/notepadqq sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install notepadqq
What do you think of this new editor? Will it become your favorite from now on?
If it is as good as Notepad ++ it will definitely become my favorite.
