about recap

In the next article we are going to take a look at RecApp. Is about a software for desktop recording. It is a free and open source program, as well as being very easy to use. This program uses GStreamer modules to record the screen, and does not depend on Ffmpeg. It was released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 and is written in python.

The application is so simple that we will find few options that need configuration. Among them we can establish three different frame rates (15, 30 and 60), delay recording, record mouse cursor and application audio. We will also be able to record and save our output files in three different formats, such as; mp4, mkv and webm.

This is not a new application, and we can find it available on Flathub. It will offer us the possibility of recording the screen in the simplest way, with hardly any parameters that we have to configure. Definitely It is not an app for the most demanding users given its simplicity, since the only thing this tool is going to do is record our screen using just a few clicks, with nothing else.

I did not know that program, I the one that I use (which is also very simple and has its .deb version in the repos so you don't need to resort to flatpaks) is kazam. Very similar to the one indicated in this article
