How to remove annoying bug reporting in Ubuntu 16.04

Bug report

Ubuntu 16.04 is a great distribution, not only for its stability but also for its features and its software, but sometimes some of that software can be quite annoying. I mean your service apport. Sometimes our program or a browser configuration can cause Ubuntu to have an internal problem and that does that after meeting we can notify the Ubuntu team.

This service is known as apport. This is usually helpful but there are also times when it is heavy and annoying. And it all starts with a little window that tells you » a problem has been detected in a system program«, Surely the window will ring for you.

The error reporting window can be very heavy in Ubuntu 16.04

There is a way to remove this annoying window from our Ubuntu, but it consists of disable Apport from our system, something that will make the window no longer appear during all the sessions we have with our Ubuntu but on the other hand, the bug or problem will continue to be there and will not be solved. So we will have to choose between disabling Apport, holding and reporting the bug or fixing the problem ourselves, something that is more difficult.

In order to disable the Apport service, we first open a terminal and write the following:

sudo service apport stop

This will stop bothering us in the session. If we want it to be permanently disabled, we have to write the following:

sudo gedit /etc/default/apport

And in Enabled, change the 1 to 0, looking like this:

Bring

If, on the other hand, we want to re-enable it, we have to change the above but if we want to enable it temporarily, we have to write the following in the terminal:

sudo service apport start force_start=1

With these simple steps we ensure that the annoying error report does not appear during the session and does not bother us with its windows. Simple right?

To avoid getting any "errors" on the command line, use gksudo:

gksudo gedit / etc / default / apport

The typical one always has to come out… .. although it is quite true. It is also true that if Ubuntu users wanted to use Debian they would, if they don't it will be for something.

They do not do it because Debian has versions of programs that are too old in many cases, because it is not fully integrated for people who use the computer at home, that is, office automation, videos, games; Because of the drivers issue that sometimes you have to install them - the graphics I mean - and they can be a headache at times, and because Debian after all is a bit more difficult to handle. To which you want to do something or you don't get anything the first time like in Ubuntu, you may not be able to get it. I mean beginner users who use Ubuntu at home.

Ubuntu like everything in life has its good and bad parts. Same as the rest of the distributions. But what is undeniable is that thanks to it many people have abandoned Windows and switched to GNU / Linux. And a few, thanks to Ubuntu, later they end up staying with Debian, or Manjaro, Antergos, Arch, or whatever.

Many Linux users are getting tired of debian because it is getting on the vine. Too purists, all like sheep.
I have come to install ubuntu and ubuntu forks where debian did not arrive due to not having support.
So something will have ubuntu that is superior. Also, debian has caused unnecessary forced changes to things that worked well.
On the other hand, the fact that debian creator Ian Murdock himself has not been able to use his own operating system on his machines already cries out to heaven.
