Shuttleworth publicly appreciates the work of the Ubuntu Community Council

Ubuntu Developers Summit 2010

During the last months, or rather during the last years, few words have been those that we have heard from Mark Shuttleworth and many of them have been to refer to the nickname of the Ubuntu version. That is why the last entry in blog Ubuntu's charismatic leader has garnered a lot of attention.

In this mentioned email Shuttleworth appreciates the work that the Ubuntu Community Council has done in recent weeks, an organization that keeps the Ubuntu Community alive and that makes more and more users choose Ubuntu as their preferred operating system. The truth is that for several months, perhaps since the Ubuntu Touch Project began , the Ubuntu Community Council has been very active to the point of creating the famous hangouts or solving specific problems. These activities have been a key factor to justify this enormous work that has had great benefits for everyone: for Canonical, for Ubuntu, for the Ubuntu Council and for its Community, especially for the latter.

The Ubuntu Community is growing thanks to the work of the Community Council

Even so the Community Council has had its problems, problems that have come with the work they have created and that many times have had nothing to do with their activities but with the philosophy of Distribution. I am referring to the latest controversies where the Ubuntu Community Council appointed leaders of official flavors where users were not very happy with themselves.

Personally, I do not question the work of the Ubuntu Community Council, a great work that is appreciated that leaders like Shuttleworth publicly recognize it, even so It is still striking that it is now and not with the presentation of the distribution when this recognition is madeIt is also striking that it is not done with Yakkety Yak or something more than an entry on his blog. All very striking, as if something was about to begin Do not you think?
