And this is Ubuntu 16.10 desktop background

Yakkety Yak Desktop Wallpaper

There is less than a month so that we can know the new version of Ubuntu, the corresponding Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak and it seems that nothing has been done yet. We know few new things about this version and we have heard little about it, but we can say that it is almost ready because we already have the desktop wallpaper of the distribution.

As many of you know, Canonical and the Ubuntu team at the end of each version usually runs a desktop wallpaper contest to use in the version as well as complementary material that the installation will have in order to propagandize the philosophy of Ubuntu and Free Software.

This contest has been held and we already have the winner for Ubuntu 16.10. In this case, as you can see in the image, the desktop background is brighter than previous versions, keeping the straight forms that were incorporated in Ubuntu a long time ago. The orange tones also continue on this desktop background, tones that are already a logo of the distribution itself.

Ubuntu 16.10 desktop background will be brighter than previous versions

The good thing about this contest is that if we like the desktop background, we can enjoy it without having to wait for the Ubuntu version to be stable. Thus, if we have the LTS version of Ubuntu we can use the desktop background without having to wait for Yakkety Yak to be stable or without having to update to this version.

Although I personally would not choose to choose this desktop background. The truth is that for several versions that Ubuntu desktop wallpapers are not very pretty for me. The shapes and color makes it one of the least chosen options for me to have in my distribution, but it is true that there are users who prefer to use this desktop wallpaper to others, although we have to say that Ubuntu contains enough desktop backgrounds for their use, backgrounds as beautiful as those used by Apple or Microsoft in their operating systems What do you think? Do you usually use the desktop background of the distribution?

It seems like a very smart move from Canonical, one when you see the desktop background with those shades of colors, you cannot help but recognize that it is Ubuntu
