A tutorial on how to install ubuntu + unity or any other desktop would be good, with a minimum ISO step by step knowing what options and packages to select to install.

Hello! I'm a newbie when it comes to Linux.
I want to migrate from windows and I ask for help to decide which distro is the most recommended for this computer:
asus eeepc 1005PE intel atom cpu N450 1.66GHz 1GB RAM.
He has recommended me Lubuntu or Linux Mint xfce (I have read that they are the most advisable for those of us who are starting) although I do not know if I could put Ubunti (since there are more tutorials for it) Thank you very much for the help!

Hello Carmen, I would recommend Linux Mint Mate 32 bits (XFCE is almost the same but Mate is more stable, complete and also light), it is the one that would best go with your PC and is highly recommended for new

thanks rowland, now i'm a mess hehej (normal, i'm a full-fledged novice). I was almost convinced to put Lubuntu LTS 14.04 and now I doubt it with Linux MInt 32 bit Mate. in the latter case, what version would it be? Is it also LTS? Could you recommend any guide in pdf to read and instruct me? The truth is that I am very lost and I appreciate any kind of help in advance! I am a normal user (consult the web, music movies, telegram, social networks ...)

    good morning
I recently bought a laptop with linux, I tried to play movies that I had downloaded on my desktop and I got an error, reading some forums I did the installation of gstr codecs and an additional VCL multimedia player, everything worked fine with the latter but today what I went to play the movies, only the audio is heard and when I go to play internet videos, a pixelated line appears on the page (something that didn't happen before). What should I do in this case?
