Ubuntu 17.04 already has kernel 4.9 and the latest graphics drivers

There are still a few days left for the first alpha version of Ubuntu 17.04, the next stable version of Ubuntu, but in the absence of these days we already know some elements that the new version of Ubuntu will contain.

Among these new elements that we can already see in the development versions of Ubuntu 17.04 the latest version of the kernel is found, kernel 4.9 which will be around for now until kernel 4.10 is released weeks before the release of the final version of Ubuntu 17.04. However, new elements have also been added such as the latest drivers and graphics drivers that will make our Ubuntu not have problems with graphics.

Ubuntu 17.04 will have kernel 4.9 and the latest versions of XOrg and AMDGPU

Among these new elements are the latest versions of MESA and X.Org, to be more exact, version 13.0.2 of MESA and version 1.18.4 of XOrg. It also incorporates the latest version of AMDGPU so we can use AMD graphics cards without any problem, or at least it will be when we have the final version of Ubuntu 17.04.

On the other hand, the Ubuntu team insists that they will work so that Ubuntu 17.04 has Linux Kernel 4.10, a kernel that is still being developed and therefore is not in these early Ubuntu 17.04 developments. They will also have the latest version of XOrg, the future 1.19, a version that is not yet available but will be available for launch.

Personally I am surprised that Canonical and Ubuntu keep updating X.Org versions when working in MIR and want it to be the tool used by everyone, a graphic server that we can already use and that next 2017 will arrive as the standard graphic server in the distribution or at least that is expected. Although of course not many will complain about this situation, don't you think?
